居士

[lang id =1028]倶欏鉢底; [lang id =1028]迦羅越 (sa) kulapati. A chief, head of a family; squire, landlord. A householder who practises Buddhism at home without becoming a monk. The female counterpart is [lang id =1028]女居士. The [lang id =1028]居士傳 is a compilation giving the biography of many devout Buddhists.
